Massage for Pregnancy

Massage during pregnancy is extremely beneficial for the well-being of the mother-to-be. Soft, flowing massage strokes reach deeply into muscles, easing aches and pains common in pregnancy. The massage gently stretches the limbs and the body so that feelings of cramp, compression and shortness of breath are relieved. Pregnancy massage is full body and can include the growing bump if the client wishes.

During the massage the client lies on her side on a mattress on the floor supported by pillows. It is a very safe and comfortable position and enables clients to fully relax, and even fall asleep. A full consultation is taken before the massage to ensure the massage meets the client’s needs.

Most importantly, the pregnancy massage is designed to be relaxing. It allows space and time for the pregnant mother-to-be to think about herself, and to feel and connect with the growing baby within her.

Postnatal Massage
Postnatal massage can be a lovely treat. Clients can come as soon as they feel able, and some bring their babies with them to feed during the massage. After labour muscles can be tired and strained, and the mother can feel exhausted and fragile. The postnatal massage is similar to the pregnancy massage with the client lying on her side in a fetal position, so even if she has had a C-section or is breastfeeding she can still be very comfortable. Postnatal massage helps ease the body gently towards recovery.
