Moxibustion has positive effects on correcting breech presentation, according to a systematic review by Taiwanese authors. Data from sixteen RCTs involving 2555 participants were included in their meta-analysis. Compare to control interventions, moxibustion significantly increased cephalic presentation at birth (relative risk (RR) = 1.39). Moxibustion also seemed to elicit better clinical outcomes when comparing an Asian population sample (RR = 1.42) with a non-Asian population (RR = 1.20). The effect of moxibustion plus acupuncture was observed to be synergistic for correcting breech presentation (RR = 1.53) in one RCT.
