Paediatric acupuncture may be an effective treatment for nocturnal crying, according to a systematic review from Korea.  The authors included 12 studies with a total sample size of 2,324 children in their analysis.  The total efficacy rate of acupuncture treatment for nocturnal crying was reported to be between 86 and 100%.  Most children were observed to have recovered after one treatment, with a recurrence rate of 11-14%.  The acupoints that were most frequently selected were Sifeng M-UE-9 and Zhongchong P-9.
